So this is why I make muslins of most of my patterns, especially if they’re vintage. See that weird bit right between my boobs that goes down to the waist? That is because I made the changes I should have to make it fit, and it went totally went wrong.
If you want to know the gory details about the weirdness of the fit, read my review of the pattern (Butterick 6020). In short, I really like the pattern, but it still needs some work to fit. I’m going to put another version of this dress on hold for a few weeks so I only need to take it in once.
I DO really like the fabric choices I made. Boy, is it obnoxious! The accent fabric is crazy, and – wrap your brain about this – that was the tamer choice! But it’s fun to wear, and as you can tell, I have no problem with standing out. :)
